Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well. I want to tell you guys a little story about why it's important to set goals and determine whether or not the goals you're striving for are truly what you want to achieve. I was once just a hip hop artist, recording my music and using various means to get my music on the web. I was making sales here and there but not really growing at the rate I wanted or expected to. My progress felt halted at a point but I just kept at it because I recorded music and uploaded so frequently it was like a routine! But, I didn't feel like I was getting anything out of that simple routine anymore, I felt like I could contribute so much more as a creator. That's when I decided to venture into songwriting for others, it just felt like it would be far more challenging for me. Having to provide quality lyrics everyday, record everyday, do a variety of styles/genres, never miss deadlines, it's kind of insane, but I think that's what makes it more fun and rewarding for me. This is where I'm going to jump back to my main point! When you venture into the field that you were working so hard to get into and you start to feel like you're losing interest for it, try to figure out what made your passion disappear. Sometimes, a simple adjustment of the goals that we're reaching for can boost our overall happiness and provide us with more clarity on what it truly is we want in life. The entire world around you, especially your nearby surroundings can condition the mind to want to attain certain goals, whether they're related to education, financial goals, obtaining 'x' amount of 'x', social status, property, etc. I know that I'll never get tired of songwriting for others no matter how hard the work load gets because it's what I feel driven to do! I know I have the skill set to provide quality in a short time frame and I always get a rush when the time continues to shrink but more opportunities open up. Always look for that rush, it doesn't matter who you are or what field you're in, you should get a rush from what you do. Let's say you're losing passion for what you do from having to deal with poor communication from your customers, maybe try looking for someone willing to do customer service for you! If you find someone to take that weight off of your shoulders you can get back to enjoying and focusing on what you love. Don't make excuses for letting your passion disappear, you just need to continue pushing, find new ways to gain inspiration, and filter out anything that takes you away from your passion.
